The Schoolhouse24 website was created to continue to promote the preservation of local history relative to but not limited to, the history of African-Americans in Maryland.

Since the early 1990’s, I have often volunteered to assist the late Helen and Arthur Chapman ( the founders of the Lutherville Historical Colored School #24 Museum) with maintaining their historical preservation efforts. Moreover, many of my family members were former students of the Lutherville Colored School #24 including my mother, grandfather and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
